Formula 1 Malaysia Grand Prix Information

Sepang International Circuit

The International Sepang Circuit hosted the first Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1999. Built in a stadium-like manner, a consequent amount of grandstand seats lay on the Home Straight and offer fans views of more or less 50% of the circuit.

The heat and humidity of Kuala Lumpur often means unpredictable weather conditions at the race’s exciting venue, adding action, adrenaline and an extra challenge for drivers and teams. With seven clear straights and a series of narrow turns, Sepang is a demanding track and also one of the most technical circuits on the calendar. The track is also very wide, which gives room for several thrilling overtaking opportunities.
